2015 TEMPRANILLO
$38.00
Rich and full of flavor, this Tempranillo is a deep red in color and rich on the palette. Aromas of baking spices and fig are enhanced by the velvety finish.
FROM THE WINEMAKER
The 2015 Tempranillo has been aged in neutral French and American oak for three years with aromas and flavors of fresh cranberry, leather, caramel, licorice, dark berries, and a hint of vanilla. Flavors of dried currants and cardamom lead up to a nice medium tannin on the finish. Dark burgundy in color with a dry sense of humor, this Tempranillo will leave you smiling.
FOOD PAIRING
Polenta with slow-roasted tomatoes and teleme cheese
FUN FACT
Pronounced “tem-pra-NEE-O” and not like our desert mammalian friend, the “armadillo”. The Tempranillo is also Winemaker Mike Heringer’s favorite red varietal wine.
PROFILE
Vineyard: Heringer Estates
Body: Rich, balanced, medium tannin
Aroma: Cranberry, cherry, black pepper spice
Barrel Program: 36 months in French and American oak
